Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has joined Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr on a 2-1/2 year deal in the aftermath of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Ronaldo was officially unveiled by his new club Al Nassr on Tuesday in Riyadh.
Against this backdrop, a trending selfie of Ronaldo with food from the Saudi fast-food chain Al Baik on the table is going viral on social media. Users who have shared the image claim that the food is from Al Baik.
The caption of the post reads “1st meal in Riyadh!”
By performing a simple reverse image search on google, we found an article published in The Sun, A British tabloid, dated September 28, 2020, titled “The fitness secrets that help Cristiano Ronaldo leap 8ft 5ins and mean even at 36 the Man Utd star is in peak condition.”
The report gives insights into Ronaldo’s fitness and diet routines that keep him fit and at the peak of his abilities with a series of photographs featuring him. One such photograph showed the footballer dressed similarly to the viral image and posing in the same manner except for the box and food from Al Baik.
Further we checked Ronaldo’s social media accounts and discovered the same image featured on the sun posted by him on Instagram on 23 September, 2016.
Taking account of this evidences we can clearly understand that the viral image showing Cristiano Ronaldo having food from Al Baik restaurant in Riyadh is altered.
