According to official updates, 14 of the 32 accused have been arrested so far, and authorities have taken demolition action against three hotels. The case has intensified demands for strict legal action and swift justice for the victim.”

However, upon investigation, we found that the claim is false. The viral video is unrelated to the Sri Ganganagar rape victim. Here’s the fact check.

We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a YouTube channel where the viral video was uploaded on May 27, 2026.
According to the caption, the video shows Chirag Paswan meeting a young girl in Darbhanga, Bihar.
Taking this clue, we conducted a relevant keyword search. This led us to a Hindi report published in Jagaran on February 15, 2026, that contained an image matching the screenshots from the viral video.
The translation of the report read, “Union Minister Chirag Paswan met with victims of the Harinagar caste violence in Kusheshwarsthan, Darbhanga. He inquired about the well-being of the injured, provided financial assistance, and assured that strict action would be taken against the perpetrators. Paswan stated that dividing society based on caste and religion is unacceptable and that the perpetrators will not be spared. He assured the victims of justice and security, while also warning administrative officials”.
We found another report on the official YouTube channel of ABP BIHAR on February 15, 2026, containing the viral clip.
The description of the video read, “Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan visited the DMCH hospital in Darbhanga on Sunday, where he met with the Dalit victims of the caste violence in Harinagar village and inquired about their well-being. During the visit, he inquired about the patients’ condition from the doctors and assured the families of justice.”
According to reports, in January and February 2026, a dispute over unpaid wages escalated into violence between a Dalit family and the dominant Brahmin community in Harinagar village, Darbhanga district, Bihar.
This makes it clear that the viral video is old and unrelated to the Sri Ganganagar rape victim.
