However, upon investigation, we found that the claim was misleading. The viral clips are unrelated to the Sri Ganganagar case. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check

We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search.

First Clip

Conducting a reverse image search of the screenshots from the first clip, we found the video uploaded on an X handle on April 19, 2026. The caption of the tweet read, “Kheda Minor Exploitation Case: 8 Arrested, Investigation Underway

Kheda, Gujarat: Gujarat Police have arrested eight individuals in connection with a serious case involving the alleged exploitation of a minor girl in Kheda district.

According to police sources, the accused are alleged to have lured, sexually assaulted, and blackmailed the victim. Those arrested include Parvej Pathan, Mahir, Faizan, and Taufiq, among others.”

Taking this clue, we conducted a relevant keyword search. This led us to a report published in India TV on April 18, 2026, that contained an image showing the same people as in the viral video. According to the report, a minor girl was gang raped in Kheda, Gujarat. The accused exploited the victim for three years. 8 of the accused have been arrested.

This makes it clear that the clip is unrelated to the Sri Ganganagar rape case.

Second Clip

A reverse image search of the screenshots from the second clip led us to a report published in the Times of India on April 26, 2026, that contained a similar image.

The report read, “Alleged sexual harassment of a Class 10 girl sent people’s tempers flaring in the Althan area, keeping the locality on edge throughout Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

The 38-year-old accused was allegedly thrashed twice by angry residents — first when locals caught him soon after the incident, and again on Saturday when police brought him to the crime spot for a panchnama.

According to police, the incident occurred around 8.30pm on Friday when the teenager was returning home on her moped after attending coaching classes. She was travelling from Sentosa Heights towards Viona Apartment on Althan-Bhimrad Road when the accused, identified as Aziz Shaikh, followed her on another moped and sexually harassed her on the way.As the harassment took place in public view, nearby residents intervened and caught hold of Sheikh. An enraged crowd thrashed him before handing him over to a police patrol team that reached the spot soon after receiving information. Police then took the accused into custody and registered an FIR in the presence of the victim’s parents and her teacher…”

Another report can be seen here.

This makes it clear that both the clips predate the Sri Ganganagar rape case.

Conclusion

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is misleading. The viral video doesn’t show the accused in the Sri Ganganagar Rape case in police custody. The first clip is an old incident from Kheda, Gujarat, and the second clip is from Surat, Gujarat.
