As public outrage continues to grow over the harrowing gang rape of a 13-year-old girl in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar district, various old and unrelated videos have surfaced on social media. In this context, a video is going viral that shows police officers severely hitting a man with sticks while he screams in pain. The users who share the video claim that this footage shows the assault of an auto driver accused in the Sri Ganganagar rape case.
Let’s check the truth.
Fact check:
We started our investigation with a reverse image search on Google, and the results led us to an Instagram post carrying the same video. As per the description of the post, the incident took place on the night of 10 June 2026 in the Atmaram Nagar area of Kalyan East in Maharashtra’s Thane district, where a minor dispute between two groups over a vehicle collision escalated into a violent clash involving gunfire, leaving a passerby seriously injured.
Using these hints, we conducted further searches and found several media reports regarding this incident. As per reports, a minor dispute regarding a vehicle brushing against another escalated into a violent clash between two groups in Atmaramnagar, Kalyan East. The situation worsened when gunfire erupted, injuring an innocent bystander, who is now in critical condition and receiving treatment at a hospital. Following the incident, Kalyan Zone 3 DCP Atul Zende arrived promptly to oversee the situation.

Based on this evidence, we can understand that an unrelated video from Maharashtra is shared as police officers beat the auto driver accused in the Sri Ganganagar rape case.
Conclusion
Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the video to be Misleading. This video shows police beating an accused involved in a violent clash in Kalyan East, Maharashtra, and it is not related to the Sri Ganganagar rape case.
