Today, August 14th, Pakistan is celebrating Independence Day. Against this backdrop, a video is going viral on social media with the claim that it shows an Indian man was arrested by London police for harassing girls during Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations.
Let’s check the truth.
Fact check:
We started our investigation with a reverse image search on Google, and the results led us to a similar video uploaded on a Facebook post on 30 September 2025. The caption states, “Student got arrested in #uk for celebrating #india Asia Cup final.”

Then, we came across the same video uploaded on a YouTube Shorts with similar information. The description states, “India’s victory in a recent cricket match led to celebrations among fans in several countries, including the United Kingdom. However, videos circulating on social media have sparked widespread discussion after showing a group of people, reported to be Indian supporters, celebrating in public before police officers intervened and detained several individuals.”
So, based on all this evidence, we can understand that the footage is an old clip dating back to 2025, showing London police detaining an Indian student during a crowd gathering to celebrate India’s victory in the Asia Cup cricket final. It has no connection to Pakistan’s Independence Day.
Conclusion
Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the video to be Misleading. This is an old video from 2025, it has no connection to Pakistan’s Independence Day.
