Fact Check-

A relevant keyword search led us to Flipkart website which warned people about the job scams related to it. According to the information, fake jobs on Flipkart and Flipkart groups of companies (Jabong, Myntra, PhonePe etc.) are luring people through SMS, emails and social media posts. Flipkart clarified that it never gave authority to any third-party firms and agents for recruitment. Authentic Flipkart jobs are posted on credible and trustworthy career sites. You can find the jobs on flipkartcareers.com and on their Facebook page Work at Flipkart. Flipkart’s recruiters do not send unsolicited messages advertising jobs in the Flipkart group companies.

The same warning can also be seen on a post made by Flipkart Stories on Facebook in 2021.

In another article, Flipkart had advised people to check the authenticity of the messages and ads on jobs they receive. Flipkart job ads received through SMS or WhatsApp or on social media are not sent by official sources but by fraudsters and scammers. A little carelessness can make a person a victim to these fraudsters.

In a recent incident from Karnataka, India, a man lost more than 3 lakhs from his account after falling victim to a job fraud on Instagram and claiming to be a certified partner of Amazon and Flipkart. The victim was contacted through Whatsapp.

Tips to remain safe:

  • Do not share personal details like name, mobile numbers, bank details, Debit/Credit card details, address, CVV number and OTPs.
  • Do not fall for promises to win lucrative prizes or unexpected high salaries with less work.
  • Do not click website links other than official ones.
  • Stay away from fake messages containing Flipkart customer care phone numbers posted on Facebook posts or comments or on any other social media

Conclusion:

Fact Crescendo found the online ad for jobs in Amazon is fake. Flipkart does not post job

openings like this on social media. This is a false advertisement to dupe people. Job seekers can check for openings on the official website.
