The video is being shared with the claim that it shows a Hindu boy kicking a Muslim schoolgirl, and the incident took place in India. The caption of the post states, “This is a new normal for Hindutva extremists under BJP’s India.”

We started our investigation with a reverse image search on Google, and the results led us to a report published by Dhaka Today on 8 August 2026 featuring the screenshot of the video. The caption states, “Video of schoolgirl being kicked goes viral, school issues TC to victim.” According to the report, the incident took place in Sonargaon, Narayanganj, Bangladesh.
As per the report, about a month ago, during school hours, the girl and a classmate went to the walkway area on the banks of the Shitalakshya River in Kanchpur Union when an 11.5-year-old boy kicked the fourth-grade girl twice in a row from behind. Someone else who was with them recorded the entire scene on a mobile phone and posted it on TikTok and Facebook.
Following the incident, the school authorities reportedly issued transfer certificates (TCs) to the two girls involved, stating that the incident had taken place outside the school premises. The Sonargaon police reportedly said that they had not received any written complaint regarding the incident at the time of the report. They added that appropriate action would be taken after receiving a formal complaint.
Moving forward, we found several Bangladeshi media reports regarding this incident sharing the same video.
Based on all this evidence, we can understand that a video from Bangladesh was falsely shared as an incident from India.
