Recently, an image of a letter, allegedly issued by Jamaat-e-Islami, Bangladesh, extending support to CJP, went viral on social media.
However, upon investigation, we found that the claim was false. The viral letter is AI-generated. Here’s the fact check.

At the beginning of our investigation, we searched for the announcement on the official Website and social media handles of Jamaat-e-Islami, Bangladesh. However, we found no such announcement anywhere.
On the official X handle of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, a tweet was posted on July 21, 2026, stating that the letter is forged, fraudulent, and doesn’t originate from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.
The tweet read, “Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami denounces forged letter circulating on social media; demands immediate halt to malicious propaganda
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General and party’s central media and publicity affairs secretary Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair issued the following statement on 21st July, 2026 protesting and condemning a forged letter, which are being circulated in the social media in regards to the ongoing student movement in India.
“Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has noted with grave concern that a fabricated letter, falsely attributed to this party and addressed “To the Brave Students Leading the Ongoing Movement in India,” is being widely circulated on various social media platforms, particularly within India. We categorically state that this letter is forged, fraudulent, and does not originate from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.
A cursory examination of the circulated document exposes it as fake. The document misspells the very name of our party on its own letterhead, an error impossible on any authentic Jamaat-e-Islami correspondence. It does not carry our official, registered address, and it bears no reference number, a feature that is mandatory on every official communication issued by this party. Its overall format and pad design also do not match the authentic letterhead used by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.
It is the longstanding and firm policy of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami not to interfere in the domestic or internal affairs of any country. This principle is foundational to our conduct in regional and international affairs, and we have never deviated from it. So, the position, stated in the forged letter is entirely inconsistent with our established policy.
We believe this forged letter is the work of a vested quarter acting with deliberate and malicious intent. The objective appears to be to create public confusion, to tarnish the image and credibility of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and to damage the relationship between our party and concerned stakeholders, both domestic and international.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami strongly protests and condemns this ill-intentioned act of forgery. We call upon social media users and platforms to refrain from circulating this fabricated document any further, and upon media outlets to verify the authenticity of any statement attributed to Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami directly with our Central Office before publication. We also call upon the individuals or groups responsible for this campaign to stop this propaganda immediately.”
Moreover, we noticed several discrepancies in the viral letter. The spelling of Bangladesh in the logo of the viral letter is misspelt as “Bangladeshe”. The “courageous” word in the letter is also distorted.
The logo used in the letter doesn’t match Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s official logo.
Moreover, AI detector tools suggested that the viral letter has been generated using AI.
Conclusion
From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral letter of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in support of CJP is AI-generated. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami clarified that the letter is forged, fraudulent and doesn’t originate from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.
