A video went viral on social media with the claim that a statue of Bharat Tiwari, who was killed in a police encounter in Bihar’s Bhojpur district recently, was unveiled in Bihar to honour him.

However, upon investigation, we found that the claim was false. The viral video is unrelated to Bharat Tiwari. Here’s the fact check.
Fact Check
At the beginning of our investigation, we noticed a photo frame below the covered statue. It didn’t look like a photo of Bharat Tiwari. Moreover, we notice a name ‘भंवरलाल’ (Bhanwarlal) written on a banner above the photo.

A reverse image search of the screenshots from the viral video led us to a Facebook post on June 11, 2026, where a similar video (shot from a different angle) was uploaded. We could read the name “श्री भंवरलाल जी सारण” written on a banner above the photo.

Taking this clue, we conducted a relevant keyword search. This led us to a report published in Dainik Bhaskar containing clips similar to the viral video.

According to the report, the statue of martyr Bhanwarlal Saran was unveiled in Lunasar, Rajasthan, on his first death anniversary.

This makes it clear that the viral video is old and unrelated to Bharat Tiwari.
Conclusion
From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show the unveiling of Bharat Tiwari’s statue in Bihar. The video is from Lunasar, Rajasthan, where the statue of martyr Bhanwarlal Saran was unveiled on June 9, 2026.
