Fact Check

We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to the Instagram handle of Times Now, where a video similar to the viral one was uploaded on June 12, 2026.

The caption read, “After Delhi and Pune, the Cockroach Janata Party’s protest over alleged examination irregularities reached Lucknow, where students and government job aspirants gathered at Eco Garden on Friday. Led by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, the demonstrators demanded accountability and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Candidates preparing for teaching, medical, revenue, administrative and other recruitment exams joined the protest, which police said was permitted from 10 am to 4 pm. The CJP is set to hold similar demonstrations in Amritsar and Bengaluru before returning to Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on June 20.”

We found a similar post on the official Instagram handle of Mirror Now on June 12, 2026.

Taking this clue, we conducted a relevant keyword search. We found a report on the YouTube channel News 24 on June 12, 2026, which contained a clip similar to the viral video. According to the report, the Cockroach Janta Party staged a protest at Eco Garden, Lucknow, on June 12, 2026. Abhijit Dipke and Neha Borab took part in that protest.

Other reports can be seen here and here.

According to reports, CJP founder Abhijit Dipke stated that Jharkhand student leader Devendra Nath Mahato should continue leading the campaign against alleged irregularities in the recruitment exams.

A report published in The Indian Express read, “…The CJP founder was responding to a question on why he was not travelling to Jharkhand to lead the protest there.

Dipke said the CJP wants to ensure that “more and more people come forward to lead the students’ movement”. “We want new faces. Devendra Mahato is the leader of the protest in Jharkhand, and we want him to continue doing so,” he added.

Dipke said he was in touch with Mahato and other student leaders. “Our team is also there in Jharkhand. This morning, I spoke to them and inquired about the students who have been hospitalised,” he said.

This makes it clear that Abhijit Dipke didn’t arrive in Jharkhand to support the ongoing student protest.

Conclusion

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show CJP founder Abhijit Dipke in Jharkhand to support the ongoing student protest. This is an old video from Lucknow.
