However, upon investigation, we found that the claim was false. The viral video is old and unrelated to Bharat Tiwari’s encounter. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check

At the beginning of our investigation, we noticed “Madhya Pradesh Police” was written in Hindi text on a police vehicle.

This indicates that the video could be from Madhya Pradesh.

Taking this clue, we conducted a relevant keyword search and a reverse image search that led us to an Instagram handle where the viral video was uploaded on February 19, 2026.

The translation of the caption read, “Madhya Pradesh: Tensions erupted in Talawadi village, under the Kukshi police station area of Dhar district, when villagers pelted stones at an administrative team arriving to conduct a survey, protesting a limestone mining lease granted to Shree Cement. Protesters targeted several police and administrative vehicles, including the tehsildar’s vehicle, damaging several vehicles. Videos from the scene showed the crowd attempting to overturn the vehicles.

Villagers allege that the proposed limestone mine and cement plant will devastate agricultural land and increase the risk of displacement. The administration arrived with a heavy police force for drilling and surveying, but due to fierce protests, the team had to return without completing the survey. A tense atmosphere currently prevails in the area.”

Moving forward, we found a report published in NDTV on February 19, 2026, that contained images similar to the screenshots from the viral video.

The report read, “Tensions flared in a village in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district when villagers allegedly attacked an administrative team that had arrived to conduct drilling and survey work for a proposed limestone quarry.

The tehsildar’s vehicle and several police and government vehicles were heavily damaged by stones, and videos circulating on social media show an enraged mob attempting to overturn the tehsildar’s car.

According to officials, the administration had reached the village with police forces deployed from nine different police stations. The team was conducting sampling and survey work related to a proposed limestone quarry and cement plant project. As soon as the drilling machinery was parked in agricultural fields, a large number of villagers, including women, gathered at the site and staged a protest. Protesters blocked the road, sat in front of the convoy, and refused to allow the survey to proceed.

Despite heavy police deployment, the situation quickly spiralled out of control. Per eyewitnesses and viral videos, villagers surrounded administrative officials, throwing stones at vehicles, and attempting to overturn government cars. Several police and administrative vehicles were damaged in the violence. Fearing escalation and possible injuries, officials exercised restraint and withdrew from the village without completing the survey…”

Other reports can be seen here and here.

This makes it clear that the viral video is old and unrelated to Bharat Tiwari’s encounter in Bihar.

Conclusion

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show the aftermath of Bharat Tiwari’s encounter in Bihar. This is an old video from Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district, which shows the villagers protesting against a proposed limestone quarry.
