We started our investigation by conducting a relevant keyword search. This led us to a report published in India Today on April 20, 2026, which contained images similar to the viral video.
The report read, “IPL 2026: Rajasthan Royals’ teenage superstar Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was spotted in tears near the boundary rope after their loss to Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. The youngster’s 28-ball 46 went in vain as KKR restricted Rajasthan to 155 before successfully chasing the target.”
We found a report published in The Times of India on April 21, 2026, carrying the same images. According to the report, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi broke down after Rajasthan Royals lost the match to KKR.

Conclusion
From our investigation, we can say that the claim is misleading. The viral video of cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is not from the recent RR vs GT match in the Qualifier 2 of IPL 2026. This is a one-month-old video from the RR vs KKR match.
