However, upon investigation, we found that the claim was false. The viral video is old and unrelated to CJP’s protest. Here’s the fact check.
Fact Check
We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a Facebook post on January 23, 2026, where the viral video was uploaded.

The hashtags used in the post were “Calicut”, “KLF”, etc.
Moreover, we noticed that the identity card of Sunita Williams in the video read, “KLF”.

Taking this clue, we conducted a relevant keyword search. We learned that KLF stands for Kerala Literature Festival.
We found a report on the official YouTube channel of The Hindu on January 22, 2026. The description of the video read, “In Kozhikode (Kerala), veteran NASA astronaut Sunita Williams arrived on 22 January to take part in the Kerala Literature Festival (KLF) 2026, where she is expected to engage in multiple sessions with audiences until 25 January, including talks on space, exploration and storytelling.”
Other reports can be seen here and here.
This makes it clear that the viral video is old and unrelated to the CJP’s protest.
Conclusion
From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show Sunita Williams visiting Jantar Mantar to support CJP’s protest. This is an old video from the Kerala Literature Festival, 2026.
