These images show protests from previous years or for different reasons

Thousands of Israeli citizens protested against the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while the investigation known as “Qatargate” is deepening, which is related to suspicions of financial links with Qatar. Mass protests were held in the city of Haifa, under increasingly strict security measures, while rallies also took place in Tel Aviv. Protesters accuse the government of corruption, lack of transparency and undermining democratic institutions, while demand Netanyahu’s resignation and early elections. Against this backdrop, a set of three images is going viral on social media with the claim that it shows Israelis protesting on the streets to demand the resignation of its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Let’s check the truth

Fact Check-
First image
We started our investigation with a reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a similar image shared in a report published by Al Jazeera in July 2023. According to Al Jazeera report, massive anti-government demonstrations continued across Israel on 15 July 2023, marking the 28th consecutive week of protests. Tens of thousands gathered in cities such as Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, calling for “days of disruption” as the government pushed forward a bill to curb judicial oversight.

Second image
A reverse image search revealed several news reports from September 2024 that featured this viral image. The reports indicate that the image is associated with large-scale protests that erupted throughout Israel after the military announced the recovery of the bodies of six hostages killed by Hamas in Gaza. The demonstrations demanded a ceasefire and a deal for the release of hostages, attracting an estimated 700,000 participants across the country, with approximately 550,000 gathering in Tel Aviv. This marked the largest crowd in Tel Aviv since the conflict began on October 7, 2023.

Third image
The reverse image search of this image led us to a news report shared by National Public Radio (NPR) in March 2025 that carried the same image. The report states that Israelis took to the streets across the country demanding a deal between Hamas and Israel to release all remaining hostages. It further said that the protesters are demonstrations against the attempts of the government to weaken the judiciary.

Thus, we can understand that all the three images are old and do not show recent visuals of protest against the Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu. The viral images show old protests and unrelated to the current events.
Conclusion-
Fact crescendo found the claim made along with the viral images to be Misleading. Though all the images show real protests in Israel, they are old and unrelated to the current events.
