Several videos shared on social media claimed to depict atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh. One such viral video shows human bodies tied to sticks and set on fire. Users shared the footage with the following caption: “Hindu genocide in Bangladesh.”

However, our investigation confirmed that the human bodies in the viral video are fake. The footage was actually filmed during a Chinese Halloween celebration.

Fact Check

A reverse image search revealed that a clip similar to the viral video was shared by an Instagram user named ‘Galaxychimelong’ on October 31, 2018.

The post indicated that the video was filmed on Guangdong Island in Zhuhai city, China.

Further investigation led us to a similar video, dated October 17, 2018, on Facebook, confirming its origin at Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in Zhuhai, China. The video, featuring bizarre costumes and Halloween-themed installations, was part of the park’s Halloween celebration.

Conclusion

From our investigation, it is clear that the human bodies in the viral video are fake and not from Bangladesh. The footage was actually filmed during Halloween celebrations at the Chimelong Ocean Kingdom theme park in China.
