Recently, a video allegedly showing the Phuket-Delhi flight that dropped 300 feet due to mid-air turbulence went viral on social media. The video shows a mobile camera recording of a flight’s landing where the wings of the aircraft crash on the ground.

However, upon investigation, we found that the claim was misleading. The viral video is AI-generated. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check 

At the beginning of our investigation, we noticed several discrepancies in the viral video. The spoilers and Flaps in the video are on the front of the wings. Moreover, when the camera moved, the person sitting near the window was not visible.

This hinted that the video could be AI-generated.

We analysed the video using several AI-detector tools. These tools suggested that the viral video is AI-generated.

Moving forward, we found the viral video uploaded on an Instagram handle on March 13, 2026.

In the caption, the user clarified that the video was generated using AI. The user wrote, “Thank you for watching this high-intensity visual demonstration. We truly appreciate your time and hope you enjoyed the spectacle. It is important to clarify that this entire video was created using advanced Artificial Intelligence tools. The footage is strictly for entertainment purposes, designed to explore the boundaries of synthetic media and digital storytelling. While the events and visuals may appear strikingly realistic, they are computer-generated simulations intended to provide a thrilling experience rather than a depiction of real-world events.”

Going through the Instagram handle, we found that most of the videos uploaded were AI- generated.

This makes it clear that the viral video is AI-generated.
