However, upon investigation, we found that the claim was misleading. The viral video is old, and no murder took place in the incident. Here’s the fact check.

We started our investigation by conducting a relevant keyword search. This led us to a tweet on the official X handle of the Mumbai Police on June 11, 2026.

The tweet read, “🔸Mumbaikars, please take note:
A misleading post is being circulated on social media alleging that a person was stabbed or murdered near Haji Ali Dargah.
Upon verification by @TardeoPS, it has been confirmed that the video being circulated is from May 2025 and relates to an altercation between a visitor and security personnel during high tide. No murder has been reported in connection with this incident. The three individuals involved have been identified.
Citizens are requested not to forward or circulate unverified information and to rely only on credible government or official sources for authentic updates.”
For more information, we contacted the Tardeo Police Station. Upon contacting Senior Police Inspector Sawalaram Salgaonkar of Tardeo Police Station, he stated that the claim being shared along with the viral video is false. The video, from May 2025, shows an altercation between a tourist and security guards during high tide. No murder took place in this incident. He further said that the three individuals involved in the incident were identified and appropriate legal action was taken against them.
Conclusion
From our investigation, we can say that the claim is misleading. The viral video is old, and no murder took place in that incident, the Mumbai Police stated.
