Old and unrelated video falsely shared as recent footage from the CJP protest

Misleading Political

On 6 June, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) held a protest at Jantar Mantar, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in examinations and recruitment tests. In this context, a video showing protesters confronting media personnel and asking them to leave is going viral on social media. Users who share the post claim that the footage was recorded during the recent CJP protest at Jantar Mantar.

Let’s check the truth.

Fact check:

We conducted a reverse image search on Google, and the results led us to a similar video uploaded on an X post on 11 February 2026 with the hashtag UGCRegulations. This indicates that the video is not recent and not related to the Cockroach Janta Party.

We also found a Facebook post from 13 February 2026, carrying the same viral video.

Moving forward, we also found a longer version of the viral video shared by National Dastak on X in February 2026. The video’s caption said, “Brahmins came out in support of UGC. UGC opponents were chased away.” (translated from Hindi). The video was shared four months before CJP was formed. This confirms that the video predates the recent Jantar Mantar protest organised by the CJP.

Taking account of all this evidence, it is clear that the footage predates the June 6 protest and is not connected to the ongoing demonstration.

Conclusion

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the video to be Misleading. This viral video is old and dates back to February 2026.
