The Hindi post alleges that Congress workers tore down posters of Lord Shri Ram and danced on them. However, upon investigating the video, we discovered that the women featured are not affiliated with Congress but with the Bharatiya Janata Mahila Morcha – the women’s wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Here’s the fact-check.

Fact Check

We closely observed the video and noticed that the women featured were wearing red and green scarves around their necks. These colors correspond to the ones found on the flag of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

In addition, the women in the video are raising slogans against Madhya Pradesh Congress leader Jitu Patwari. Using this information, we did a simple Google search and found a news report published by the Free Press Journal.

According to the report, Congress Madhya Pradesh President Jitu Patwari made an indecent comment about BJP leader Imarti Devi, leading to a protest by the BJP against him. BJP’s Mahila Morcha workers staged a protest outside Patwari’s residence in Bijalpur, Indore, on May 3, 2024. During this protest, the activists tore down a poster of Patwari featuring Hindu Gods Ram, Sita, and Hanuman.

MP Congress spokesperson Amit Chourasia posted a video of the incident on his X handle, alleging that Mahila Morcha activists expressed their hostility and resentment towards the Congress by trampling the poster of Lord Shri Ram and Lord Hanuman.

The incident was also reported by Bansal News, who reported that Congress has filed a complaint with MP Police against the Mahila Morcha activists.
