This video is from a displacement camp in northern Syria. It has no link to Israel-Palestine war.

Amid the ongoing Israel- Palestine war, the health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza said on January 15 that at least 24,100 people have been killed in the territory in more than three months of war. In this scenario, a video of a young Palestinian girl crying and describing something has gone viral on social media. According to the subtitles of the video, she spoke about her horrific living conditions in Gaza saying, “Death is better than all these things that have happened.”

The caption of the post states, “CHILDREN SHOULD NOT FEEL THIS WAY

#GenocideinGaza #IsraeliTerrorists"I want to leave this life."

Fact Check-

We started the investigation with a reverse image search on Google and the results led us to the Al Jazeera Syria’s Facebook page. Similar video was uploaded there on 9 January with the caption in Arabic translated as, “Sham... A displaced Syrian girl talks about her wishes and harsh living conditions in a tent in one of the camps in the Idlib countryside”.

Keeping this in mind, we conducted keyword search and found an extended version of this video on the YouTube channel of Al Jazeera Mubasher, shared on January 8. The caption states, “My heart burned from within.” A Syrian child cries over the tragedy of her displaced family after their tent burned down in northern Syria. A Syrian girl called Sham, narrating the ordeal of her displaced family after their tent burned down in northern Syria.

In further search, we found the same video on the Instagram page of Emergency Response Team, a non-profit organisation based in northern Syria. The organisation shared this video on 7 January. Its caption stated that this was Sham, a Syrian girl whose family does not have a roof over their heads since their tent was destroyed. This page shared several other similar clips of Syrian people in need of help.

These evidences confirm that the viral video is from Syria and it has no link to the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.

Conclusion-

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be Misleading. This video is from a displacement camp in northern Syria. It has no link to Israel-Palestine war.
