Fact Check-

Our investigation began with a reverse image search of key frames from the viral video, which revealed that several people have recently shared it on YouTube claiming it is from Puri.

But upon closer inspection, we discovered that Malayalam is being spoken by those in the video. With this hint we searched using Malayalam keywords and found a report by Kairali News shared on 21 August 21, 2022 along with a similar video.According to the report sardines came ashore in the north-west of Alappuzha beach in Kerala early in the morning and people who live on the shore came with containers and returned home with the required amount of fish.

A shoal of fish coming suddenly to the shore is a peculiar marine phenomenon called Chakara. In which many fish and prawns throng together during a particular season as part of mud bank formations.

This was the natural phenomenon called ‘chakara’ happens in Kerala during monsoon, which brought an abundance of fish to the shores. Upwelling brings the bottom mud to the top and a mixing takes place causing hydrographical changes in the surface. The calm nature prevailing in the chakara area (mud banks) attracts fish towards it. Many of them land during chakara.

We also found the same viral video in many YouTube videos all were uploaded on August 2022. Which you can see below

From these evidences we can clearly understand that the viral video is not from Vizag but from Alappuzha beach in 2022.

Conclusion-

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False. The viral video shows an old incident happened in Kerala. It has no connection to the Cyclone Michaung.
