According to reports, a day after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out raids across West Bengal in connection with its probe into the state’s School Service Commission (SSC) teacher recruitment scam and recovered Rs 20 crore from the house of Arpita Mukherjee, a close associate of senior minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Partha Chatterjee, the agency arrested her. The ED had earlier arrested Chatterjee in connection with the case.
Later on, the ED has found another Rs 28 crore in cash, over 5 kg gold and several documents at the second apartment of Arpita Mukherjee.
Amidst this, a video showing Arpita Mukherjee dancing to the Bengali song “O Partha Da tomai Chai” is widely circulating on social media. Users claim that Arpita Mukherjee grooved to this song before ED caught Rs 20 crore cash.
Social media users are mocking Arpita Mukherjee and TMC leader Partha Chatterjee’s relationship. However, both of them have not revealed anything about each other’s association to the media.
The caption of the video states, “Arpita Mukherjee dances to the Tune “O Partha Da tomai Chai” before being caught by ED 20Crores Cash. No wonder Mamata is not fighting the ED. It’s what we call Artistic rivalry. How dare she dance.”
Fact Check-
We started our investigation by visiting Arpita Mukherjee’s Instagram profile and found that she had uploaded the reel on 15 August 2021. However, we can clearly hear that Arpita is not dancing to the Bengali song “O Partha Da tomai Chai.” In this video, she is dancing to the song “Looking at me” by Sabrina Carpenter.
This make it clear that the video edited. The song has been edited to mock Arpita Mukherjee.
Below you can see a comparison between the viral video and the original video. We can clearly hear the difference in the background music.
Another keyword search led us to the Bengali song “O Partha Da tomai Chai” and found that this song was released on 15 March 2021 sung by KD and composed by Tapas Roy. It was released before the West Bengal Assembly elections.

Fact Crescendo found the video to be edited. The video does not show Arpita Mukherjee dancing to the Bengali song “O Partha Da tomai Chai.” The original video shows her grooving to the song “Looking at me” by Sabrina Carpenter.
