Using these hints, we conducted further searches and found many media reports regarding this incident. As per reports, “Major chaos broke out at Bihar’s Pataliputra railway station on 13 June 2026 as hundreds of candidates appearing for the state police recruitment exam staged protests over alleged mismanagement of transport arrangements and a shortage of trains.” The situation soon escalated, with reports of vandalism targeting an exam special train, forcing police to fire tear gas and lathi charge.
During the protest, some demonstrators blocked railway tracks, vandalised railway property, and pelted stones at trains, prompting police to use tear gas and lathi-charge to disperse the crowd. Several police personnel were injured, and multiple protesters were detained.
When the video gained traction on social media with false claims linking it to the July 20 CJP protests in Delhi, the official X handle of Northen Railway released a public clarification stating that the train in the video was not a hydrogen train but one hauled by a WAG-12 locomotive.
