After the Delhi Blast near the Red Fort, a news report went viral. The report read, “A day after the blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, authorities have recovered a massive cache of explosives from a rented house in Sector 56, intensifying the ongoing investigation.

According to early inputs, the seized materials were found packed in blue containers and are suspected to be part of a larger supply chain linked to recent terror operations.

Security agencies have launched a detailed forensic probe to trace the origin and handlers of the explosives.” The Facebook post contained a screenshot of a tweet from an X Handle “Praffulgarg”. The screenshot contained an image of a package wrapped in blue plastic, along with a caption, “Breaking: Day after Delhi blast, a massive cache of explosives has been seized from a rented house in Sector 56. Multiple media outlets like PTI, Times Now, Deccan Chronicle, Livemint reported the same. The reports contained an image of a package wrapped in blue plastic.

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was misleading. The Faridabad Police refuted the claim. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check

We started our investigation by conducting a reverse image search. This led us to an Instagram post on 11 November 2025. The Instagram handle belongs to the same “Praffulgarg” whose tweet went viral. The Instagram post contained a screenshot of a tweet from the Faridabad Police that read, “A misleading news story is being circulated in the media that explosive material has been found in the Se. 56 Fari. area.

This material is firecrackers used in weddings and marriages and their raw material; it has no connection with terrorist activities. The Faridabad Police refutes this, do not spread misleading propaganda.”. The caption of the Instagram post read, “I reported this incident with a clear PTI picture. Sorry for this news, have found this so deleting the last one and posting this. @ptinews_multimedia please check this As your page is still showing this news!”
