This viral image is from a 2024 blast in Lebanon, not related to Delhi.

At least 12 people have been killed and more than 20 wounded when a car exploded near Delhi’s Red Fort on 10 November, 2025. Following the blast, an image showing a massive fireball and mushroom cloud went viral online, claiming to be from the Red Fort blast.
Let’s check the truth.

Fact Check-
We started our investigation with a reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a similar image on a Reuters report published in Al-Arabiya on 29 September, 2024, showing smoke over Beirut’s southern suburbs following Israeli air raids targeting Hezbollah positions. The caption states, “Smoke billows over Beirut’s southern suburbs, amid ongoing hostilities between Hezbollah and Israeli forces.”

We also found a report by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation published on 27 September, 2024, carrying the same image. According to the report, it is actually related to Israel-Lebanon tensions.
“Massive explosions could be heard across Lebanon’s capital about 6:20pm local time (1:20am Saturday AEST). Large plumes of smoke were also visible. Previous IDF strikes in Beirut have been attempts to kill the leadership of the Hezbollah militant group,” read a section of the report.
Further, we found a tweet on the official X handle of PIB Fact Check on 10 November 2025, refuting the viral claim. The tweet states, “The image is from a 2024 blast in Lebanon, not from #Delhi”.

Conclusion-
Fact crescendo found the claim made along with the viral image to be False. This viral image is from a 2024 blast in Lebanon, not related to Delhi.
