This video is from Chennai Airport, which was flooded in December 2023

Heavy rains lashed Mumbai leading to severe waterlogging in several areas, and massive traffic disruptions, prompting the IMD to issue flood alerts and city-wide emergency measures.
Against this backdrop, a video showing severe waterlogging at an airport has gone viral on social media with the claim that it shows the visuals from Mumbai airport. The caption of the post states, “Heavy waterlogging has disrupted operations of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai”.
Let’s check the truth
Fact Check-
Our investigation began with a reverse image search of key frames from the viral video and the results led us to a similar video uploaded by the Times Now on Twitter in December 2023 under the caption, “CycloneMichaung: Runway at Chennai airport flooded amid heavy rainfall across the city”.
Moving forward, we found several news reports featuring key frames from the viral video with the same video and information.
The city of Chennai witnessed the worst flood in half a century due to the effects of Cyclone Michaung which hit in December 2023. As per reports, at least 1,500 passengers were stranded and 300 flights were cancelled at Chennai airport as Cyclone Michaung unleashed heavy rains and flooding, bringing airport operations to a standstill.
Apart from the water logging caused by the rains, the water gushed over the roads to a height of more than five feet and all the low-lying areas were submerged. The cyclonic storm had ravaged Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
Though Mumbai is currently experiencing heavy rainfall, a search for any reports of flooding at airport did not lead to any credible news reports. So, taking account of all these evidences, we can understand that an old video of a flooded airport from Chennai falsely shared as Mumbai Airport.
Conclusion-
Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False. This video is from Chennai Airport, which was flooded in December 2023.
