However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. The video is old and unrelated to Operation Sindoor. Here’s the fact check.
Fact Check
We started our investigation by taking some screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to an Instagram handle, farwawaheedofficial, where a longer version of the video was uploaded on 7 November 2023. Farwa Waheed is an anchor of the Pakistani news channel Express News. Sharing the video, she wrote, “I couldn’t control my tears and emotions .. i know we can’t do anything for the people of palestine (Gaza) Thousand of people have lost their lives, many are struggling to survive and that hurts a lot .. may this brutality end soon ..”
We found the same video on Farwa Waheed’s official Facebook page with the same caption on 7 November 2023.
This makes it clear that the video is old, and the anchor was talking about the situation in Palestine.
Conclusion
From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video is old and unrelated to Operation Sindoor. The Pakistani news anchor Farwa Waheed became emotional while reporting on Palestine.
