This video shows Indian and Chinese troops dancing to bhangra music after participating in the 7th Sino-India joint military exercise in China.

Three militants, including wanted Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) ‘commander’ Usman Lashkari, were killed in two separate anti-militancy operations in Kashmir on 2 November 2024.Two policemen and two CRPF jawans were also injured in the operations. Against this backdrop, a dance video is going viral on social media with the claim that after the death of the LeT commander both the Indian and Chinese Army’s indulged in some dance and music.

The caption of the post states, “Based on specific intelligence inputs from the Chinese MSS, the Indian Army eliminated Usman a dreaded LeT FT, active since last 16-17 years! After successfully eliminating the pig both the Indian and Chinese Army’s indulge in some dance and music”.

Fact Check- 

We started the investigation with a reverse image search on Google and the results led us to an Indian Express report from 2018 carrying a screengrab from the viral video. The report stated that as troops of India and China got together for the 7th Sino-India joint exercise Hand-in-Hand 2018 at Chengdu in China, the soldiers from both sides shared a lighter moment of dancing. Now, the video of the Indian army teaching their Chinese counterpart Bhangra steps has delighted people online.

According to the Business insider report, “In a video that has taken the Internet by storm, Indian and Chinese troops can be seen dancing to the tunes of the Indian traditional folk dance ‘bhangra’ after a joint military exercise. The soldiers shared a lighter moment dancing as they got together for the 7th Sino-India joint exercise Hand-in-Hand 2018 at Chengdu in China.

The Financial Express report also states that the “Indian Army’s troops and a unit of Tibetan Military district representing the Chinese side dance and share lighter moments during the Hand-in-Hand exercise”.

Taking account of all these evidences, we can say an old dance video of Indian Chinese Soldiers falsely shared linking to the death of LeT Commander.

Conclusion- 

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be Misleading. This video shows Indian and Chinese troops dancing to bhangra music after participating in the 7th Sino-India joint military exercise in China. It dates back to 2018.
