A video that is going viral on social media features a cute, smiling infant wrapped in a red cloth, lying on the floor near the entrance of a house while a few adults stand nearby. The claim accompanying the video suggests that this incident occurred in Nashik, Maharashtra, where a couple abandoned their daughter.
The caption states, “A heartbreaking incident has emerged from Maharashtra. A two-month-old baby girl was abandoned in a room by her parents, who then fled. Locals became suspicious and found the baby wrapped in a red blanket on the floor.”
However, upon investigation, we discovered that the claim was misleading. The viral video is scripted and does not show a real incident.
Here’s the fact check.
Fact Check
We started our investigation with a reverse image search on Google, and the results led us to a longer version of a similar video uploaded on an Instagram account named ‘Yashika Patidar,’ and it was shared on 4 July 2026.

The caption states, “Short film shooting Naya saal.” The cameraman can be seen at the end of the video along with shooting lights.
This account also contains other footage of the shooting. In it, the shooting starts with the instruction “action.” An actor is shown holding up a baby, and a man is also seen giving directions and describing how to film the scene.
In a video’s comment section, the girl’s mother, Varsha Patidar, commented, “This is a video of my daughter’s shooting time.” So, the viral video showing an infant is scripted and does not depict a real incident.
Conclusion
Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the video to be Misleading. This video shows the shooting of a short film, not a real incident.
