In this context, a video showing a poster of Aaj Tak journalist with a garland of slippers is going viral on social media. The video shows young people throwing shoes, slippers, and garlanded Anjana’s photo in protest. The users who share the video claim that it shows people protesting against Anjana Om Kashyap following her remarks about teachers. The caption of the video states, “People are protesting against Anjana Om Kashyap’s remarks on YouTube teachers.”

We started our investigation with a reverse image search on Google, and the results led us to a similar video uploaded on an Instagram page on 12 October 2025. The caption states, “A protest against Aaj Tak anchor Anjana Om Kashyap. Young people threw shoes, slippers, and garlanded Anjana’s photo in protest. A case has been filed against anchor Anjana Om Kashyap in Ludhiana. An FIR has been filed for making derogatory remarks about Lord Valmiki! The FIR was filed based on a complaint by Chaudhary Yashpal, National Convenor of the Bharatiya Valmiki Dharma Samaj.”

This indicates that the viral video is old and not related to the recent issues.

Using these hints, we conducted further searches and found some news reports of that time. According to reports, “In October 2025, the Ludhiana Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Aaj Tak news anchor Anjana Om Kashyap for allegedly making derogatory remarks against ancient era saint Valmiki during her show Black and White. The FIR has been registered on the complaint of Chaudhary Yashpal, the national coordinator of the Bhartiya Valmiki Dharam Samaj Bhavadas, which is headed by Vijay Danav. 

Following this, groups of youth, angry at the broadcast, took to the streets in Ludhiana. In some of the demonstrations, protesters burned effigies, threw shoes and slippers, and placed garlands on photographs of Kashyap to register their anger. 

So, the viral video is old, and it dates back to October 2025. The viral video does not show people protesting against Anjana Om Kashyap following her remarks on the YouTube-based teachers.
