However, upon investigation, we discovered that the claim was misleading. The viral video is old. Here’s the fact check.
Fact Check
We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to report on the official Facebook page of TRT World on August 19, 2025, which contained the viral clip.

The caption of the post read, “What sin could a ten-year-old girl, who was simply going to bring water, have committed?”
Ashraf al Mufti, father of Amna — a 10-year-old Palestinian girl who was killed by an Israeli missile in Gaza after she went out to fetch water — is calling on international organisations to hold Israel accountable and deliver justice for his daughter.”
We found the viral video on the Instagram handle “middleeastmonitor” on August 18, 2025. The caption of the post read, “This is Amna Al-Mufti, an 11-year-old girl killed by an Israeli military strike while fetching water in Jabalia camp, northern Gaza. The attack occurred on December 21, 2024. According to records from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Amna was born in 2013. Her 8-year-old brother, Baraa, was also killed in the assault.”
Another report can be seen below.
This makes it clear that the viral video is old.
Conclusion
From our investigation, we can say that the claim is misleading. The viral video doesn’t show a recent Israeli attack on Gaza. The incident took place in August 2025.
