Fact check:

We started our investigation with a relevant keyword search on Google but could not find any credible media report or official source confirming that the Indian Army has been deployed in West Bengal.

Next, we conducted a reverse image search on Google, and the results led us to a similar video uploaded by a Bangladeshi media Facebook page on 12 February 2026. The post indicates that the incident is from near the Maniknagar Model High School polling station in Dhaka.

On closely analysing the video, we noticed “Bangladesh Army” written on a vehicle. A visible signboard, when translated, mentioned “Mugda Police Station,” located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. We also geolocated this specific location and confirmed that the surroundings correspond to those shown in the viral video.

Bangladesh held its general election on February 12 of this year, following the ousting of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the establishment of an interim government led by economist Muhammad Yunus, which lasted for approximately two years.

So, based on all this evidence, we can understand that this video is actually from the Mugda area of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Mugda is an area under the Dhaka South City Corporation.

Conclusion

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False. This video is from Dhaka, Bangladesh, not from West Bengal.
