
There have been rumours of a shortage of LPG in the wake of the recent conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran. Against this backdrop, a post went viral on social media. According to the post, a revised LPG refill booking timeline has been introduced. According to the timeline, cylinders can be booked only after 35 days. According to some posts, the revised LPG refill booking timelines are: 45 days for PMUY connections, 25 days for non-PMUY single-bottle connections, and 35 days for non-PMUY double-bottle connections.

However, upon investigation, we discovered that the claim was false. There have been no changes in the LPG refill booking timelines. Here’s the fact check.
Fact Check
We started our investigation by conducting a relevant keyword search. This led us to a press release on the PIB website on March 25, 2026. Refuting the viral claim, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas stated that no such changes have been made. The existing refill booking timelines remain unchanged and continue to be: 25 days in urban areas, and 45 days in rural areas, irrespective of connection type.

We found a tweet on the X handle of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas refuting the claim.
PIB Fact Check, on their official X handle, refuted the viral claim.
This makes it clear that the viral claim is false.
Conclusion
From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. There have been no changes in the LPG refill booking timelines. The existing refill booking timelines remain unchanged and continue to be: 25 days in urban areas, and 45 days in rural areas, irrespective of connection type.
