
A video of a woman crying while speaking over the mic went viral on social media. Sharing the video users claimed that she is a family member of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and she is crying after the confirmed reports of the death of Iddo Netanyahu.

However, upon investigation, we discovered that the claim was false. The viral video is old. Moreover, no credible report has been found stating Iddo Netanyahu’s death. Here’s the fact check.
Fact Check
We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a Facebook post where the viral video was uploaded on September 29, 2025. The caption of the video read, “These are the same Israeli families who post selfies of their son soldiers torching people alive in Gaza, now crying at the funeral.
Degeneration.”

This confirms that the video predates the ongoing Middle East Conflicts.
Moving forward, we found the viral video uploaded on Facebook on October 13, 2024.

The translation of the caption of the video read, “From the funeral of the Israeli Nathaniel Hershkovitz
He was killed yesterday in an ambush set up by Al-Qassam Brigades in Jabalia, northern Gaza.
She says: #LetUsLive .”
Taking this clue, we conducted a relevant keyword search in Hebrew. This led us to a verified Facebook page where a video report was uploaded about Major Nathaniel Hershkowitz who was killed in the Gaza Strip. In this video, we could spot the girl shown in the viral video.

The video shows the funeral of Nathaniel Hershkowitz.
Moreover, we found no credible report stating the death of Iddo Netyanahu.
This makes it clear that the viral video is old.

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show Netanyahu’s family members. This is an old video from October 2024 that shows the funeral of an Israeli soldier, Nathaniel Hershkowitz.
