Old Video From Iran Shared As Israeli People Leaving Their Homes To Flee The Country.

Recently, a video of chaos in the streets went viral on social media. Sharing the video users claimed that it shows the Israeli people leaving their homes to flee the country amidst the Middle East conflict.

However, upon investigation, we discovered that the claim was false. The viral video is old and not from Israel. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check 

We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a verified Instagram handle of a Journalist, “Nazila Maroofian“, where the viral video was uploaded on January 1, 2026.

The translation of the caption read, “An informed source has informed me that citizens have joined the nationwide protests on the streets of the Grand Bakery in the city of Babol, Iran.

According to this source, security forces are clashing with protesters in Babol.

Hear the voice of Iran.”

Moving forward, we found the video on the YouTube channel “VOA Farsi” on January 1, 2026.

The description of the video read, “Clashes between protesters and the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic during night protests in Babol”

A report published on January 1, 2026, which contained a video similar to the viral one, read, “Iranian security forces attacked protesters in the northern city of Babol on Wednesday evening, according to video footage obtained by Iran International. The footage shows police and plainclothes agents moving in on demonstrators and dispersing the gathering by force”.

This makes it clear that the viral video is not from Israel.

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show the Israeli people leaving their homes to flee the country. The video is from Babol, Iran. It depicts a clash between protesters and security forces on December 31, 2025, in Babol, Iran.
