However, upon investigation, we discovered that the claim is false. The viral video is old and unrelated to India’s victory. Here’s the fact check.
Fact Check
We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a video on a Facebook page on September 3, 2025. The video contained the viral clip. The translation of the caption read, “Khost Sarkardan Chowk in the joy of cricket.”

Moving forward, we found the viral video on a Facebook page on October 15, 2025.

The caption hinted that the video is from Khost, Afghanistan.

Although we couldn’t confirm the exact occasion of the gathering, it’s clear that the video is old and unrelated to the recent ICC Men’s World Cup.
Conclusion
From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show the people in Afghanistan celebrating India’s victory in the recent ICC Men’s World Cup. The video has been available on the internet since at least September 2025.
