However, upon investigation, we discovered that the claim was false. The viral video is old and not from Pakistan. Here’s the fact check.
Fact Check
We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to the official Facebook page of TRT Arabic where the viral video was uploaded on March 19, 2025.

The translation of the caption read, “It resulted in injuries and material damage… The moment a fuel tanker exploded in the city of Douma in the Damascus countryside, causing a huge bang and huge flames that rose up at the site.”
Taking this clue, using relevant keywords, we found the viral video on the YouTube channel “Roya News English” uploaded on 18 March 2025. According to the description, the video shows a fuel tanker explosion in Syria.
Using keywords in the Arabic language, we found the viral video on the official Facebook page of Sky News Arabia uploaded on 18 March 2025. According to the caption, the video shows a fuel tanker explosion in the city of Douma in the Damascus countryside.
This makes it clear that the viral video is an old video from Damascus, Syria.
Conclusion
From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show a recent explosion in Karachi, Pakistan. The video shows a fuel tanker explosion in the city of Douma in the Damascus countryside, Syria.
