We conducted a keyword search on Google to check whether Lionel Messi visited Ahmedabad during his recent GOAT India Tour. However, we found no credible reports to support the claim that Messi was in Ahmedabad or at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
Next, we performed a reverse image search on Google, and the results led us to a similar video posted on an X handle named @seriousfunnyguy on 26 January 2025, much before Messi’s India tour. The caption of the post states, “This is how the Coldplay concert went last evening in Ahmedabad, but @diljitdosanjh says no more shows until India improves infrastructure!”
The caption indicated that the visuals were from the Coldplay’s concert held in Ahmedabad. This made it clear that the visuals predated the recent GOAT India Tour of the footballer.
Moving forward, we found more visuals from the concert shared on the official YouTube channel of MyGovIndia. It was uploaded on 26 January with a caption that said, “Coldplay Live at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.”
The viral video, purportedly of Messi’s Gujarat event, is actually from a Coldplay concert in Ahmedabad in January 2025.
Moreover, we found multiple news reports confirming that Coldplay performed at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 26 January, 2025. All these evidences clearly state that the viral video is from that concert and has nothing to do with Lionel Messi’s GOAT India Tour, which took place in December 2025.
During his recent visit, Messi travelled to Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and New Delhi, and did not visit Ahmedabad.
