Old Unrelated Clips Shared Linking To The Recent IAF Air Show In Guwahati.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) held an air show on November 9, 2025, at Lachit Ghat in Guwahati as part of its 93rd anniversary celebrations. Against this backdrop, a video of an air show went viral on social media claiming it to be from the IAF air show in Lachit Ghat, Guwahati.

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim is misleading. A few clips in the video are old and unrelated to the recent IAF air show in Guwahati. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check 

At the beginning of the video, we noticed a sea over which the air show was being held.

Moreover, the colours used in the Indian Air Force (IAF) air show smoke are saffron (orange), white, and green, i.e. the colours of the national flag. But the colours seen in some of the clips in the viral video are blue, white and red. Therefore, we suspected that the clips might not be from an IAF air show.

We took screenshots from the viral video and conducted a reverse image search. This led us to the Reddit website where we saw some photos similar to the screenshots from the viral video, uploaded on 11 October 2025. According to the description, it was an air show by the “Red Arrows” at the Malta International Air Show.

The “Red Arrows” are the official aerobatic display team of the Royal Air Force (RAF), the air force of the United Kingdom.

We conducted a reverse image search again and found a video on an Instagram handle uploaded on 28 September 2025. The video matched a few clips in the viral video.

According to the caption, the video is from the Malta International Air Show, 2025.

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is misleading. A few clips in the viral video are old. These show an air show by the Royal Air Force (Red Arrows).
