Our investigation began with a reverse image search of key frames from the viral video, which led us to similar video uploaded on an Instagram post on 30 March 2025. The post mentions that the incident took place on the River Vrbas in Banja Luka.
Using these hints, we conducted further searches and found several news reports regarding this incident. According to these reports, on 29 March, 2025, group of people went rafting on the Vrbas River near Banja Luka, Bosnia. The river was in flood-like conditions as a result of a rapid rise in water level. During their rafting trip, their boat capsized, throwing all passengers into the river. The strong current took them away, but they were all rescued safely.
According to reports, this group of people were members of the rafting club ‘RK Book’. The report further adds a member of this club intentionally chose to raft in such weather for adventure. They have previously rafted in this river as well. After the boat capsized, everyone escaped safely.
So, it is clear that the video of rafting accident is from Bosnia, not from India.
