In a video viral on social media, a person can be seen walking and standing on bottles of Coca-Cola, and other people were tearing posters with names of KitKat, Oreo, Garnier, KFC, Aerial Detergent, etc.
Social media users are claiming that brands like Coca-Cola, KFC, KitKat, Garnier, Oreo, Ariel, etc. are Turkish products and need to be boycotted.
However, Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. All the products mentioned originated from different countries, and not products of Turkey.

Coca-Cola: In our research, we first looked for Coca-Cola’s history. We found the information available on its website. According to the information, Coca-Cola originated at Jacob’s Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia in 1886 by Dr.John Pemberton. It started with 9 drinks per day and now reached 1.9 billion servings each day in more than 200 countries.
According to Britannica, Coca-Cola was incorporated in America in 1892. Coca-Cola was created in 1886 by John S. Pemberton, a pharmacist in Atlanta, Georgia. Initially marketed as a tonic, it contained cocaine from coca leaves and caffeine from kola nuts. The name “Coca-Cola” was chosen by Pemberton’s bookkeeper, Frank Robinson. The formula was later altered to remove cocaine around 1903.
KFC: We searched about the history of KFC on its website. We found that KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) was established by Colonel Harland Sander in 1930 in Corbin, Kentucky which is in the USA. The first franchise of KFC was opened in 1952 in Utah, USA.
Ariel: Ariel detergent was originally created by the Procter & Gamble (P&G) company. It was first launched in the United Kingdom in 1967 and later expanded to other markets around the world. Ariel is known for its strong stain-removal properties and is one of P&G’s leading laundry detergent brands globally.
Garnier: Garnier is a French brand founded in 1904 by Alfred Amour Garnier. The brand began with the introduction of the first hair lotion made entirely from natural plant ingredients, reflecting its long-standing commitment to combining beauty with nature. In 1965, the company was acquired by French company L’Oréal, which further expanded its global presence.
KitKat: KitKat was created in the 1930s by a British company called Rowntree’s. In 1935, they released it under the name “Rowntree’s Chocolate Crisp.” It was made of crispy wafer layers covered in milk chocolate. Later, the name was changed to KitKat, inspired by an old London club. In 1958, the famous slogan “Have a break, have a Kit Kat” was launched in ads, encouraging people to enjoy a short break with the tasty treat. In the 1980s, Nestle acquired Rowntree’s, the original producer of KitKat.
Conclusion:
Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. Coca-Cola, KFC, Ariel, Garnier and KItKat are not Turkish products. While Coca-Cola and KFC are of American origin, Ariel and KitKat are of UK origin and Garnier originated in France.
