Video Of Fuel Tanker Explosion In Syria Going Viral As Pakistan’s Army Headquarters Explosion.

False International

Recently a video of an explosion went viral on social media claiming it to be a blast in the army headquarters of Pakistan. Sharing the video, a user wrote, “Another devastating blast at Pakistan’s Army Headquarters! The chaos continues as the world watches. How many more lives will be lost to Pakistan’s growing instability?”

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. The video shows an oil tanker blast in Damascus, Syria. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check 

We started our investigation by taking some screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a tweet where the viral video was uploaded on 18 March 2025. According to the caption, the explosion took place in Douma, Damascus countryside, Syria.

Taking this clue, using relevant keywords, we found the viral video on the YouTube channel “Roya News English” uploaded on 18 March 2025. According to the description, the video shows a fuel tanker explosion in Syria. 

Using keywords in the Arabic language, we found the viral video on the official Facebook page of Sky News Arabia uploaded on 18 March 2025. According to the caption, the video shows a fuel tanker explosion in the city of Douma in the Damascus countryside.

We found the same video on the Arabic News YouTube channel. The caption of the video read, “A huge fireball…the moment a fuel tanker exploded on the Douma-Mesraba Bridge in the Damascus countryside.”

Similar videos can be seen here and here.

This makes it clear that the viral video is from Damascus, Syria.

Conclusion 

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show an explosion in the army headquarters of Pakistan. The video shows a fuel tanker explosion in the city of Douma in Damascus countryside, Syria.
