A social media post with Emirates Airlines ad regarding recruitment for multiple job postings is going viral. The ad claims that Emirates Airlines is hiring candidates for 75 different jobs in the company. It further says that the vacancy is mostly for Cabin Crew with a lucrative salary of 4000 Dirhams.

However, Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. Emirates Airlines warned people of the fraud job offers. It does not use the recruitment process through social media ads or similar methods.

Fact Check-

A relevant keyword search on Google led us to a notice released by Emirates Flight Catering Company (EKFC). It has warned people that fraudsters use Emirates name and logo to lure people into the scam. Fraudsters use detailed job descriptions and information to look genuine.

EKFC clarified that these kinds of job offers and ads have no connection with the company and it does not use such methods as part of the recruitment process. It further said that such scams are intended to steal money from the victims. Below are the few tips by EKFC for caution-

  • Official communications from EKFC only come from an email address ending in @ekfc.com and job opportunities with EKFC are advertised on EKFC’s websites.
  • The communication or alleged contract makes poor use of language and/or contains spelling errors.
  • The communication requests bank account details. EKFC does not send any communications requesting a candidate’s bank account details.
  • Candidates are requested to contact other companies/individuals such as lawyers, bank officials, travel agencies, courier companies, visa/immigration processing agencies, etc.

On another release Emirates warned saying, “Any job offers, seemingly from the Emirates Group, that asks you for money is fraudulent.

According to a Khaleej Times report in 2018, the Emirates group issued a warning on their official website about fraudulent emails offering fake job oppurtunities. To identify a real job offer, the company highlighted that an Emirates Group representative will always be present at the interview before a job offer is made, and no money transfers or payments will be requested, including for travel expenses or visas.

Emirates replied to a tweet in 2023 about fake jobs. The tweet reads, “This is a scam and not related to us at all. The only official website that you could apply for a job opportunity with us through is - https://emiratesgroupcareers.com

Conclusion:

Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. All the job openings can be applied on their official website. It does not use the recruitment process through social media ads or similar methods.
