Fact Check-

We analysed the viral video carefully and found a watermark on the video that said Bharat News and PB News. Using these hints, we conducted a keyword and reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a longer version of the viral video uploaded on a YouTube channel on 11 July 2021. The title states that “Big news, Sirsa CDLU arrival proved costly for Deputy Speaker, farmers broke Ranbir Gangwa’s car”.

Upon further search, we found a report by ETV Bharat published on 11July, 2021. The report states, “There was a BJP program at Chaudhary Devi Lal University in Sirsa. Deputy Speaker Ranbir Gangwa and other leaders participated in this program. When the Deputy Speaker and other leaders were returning after the program, the farmers stopped their convoy and started pelting stones. During this, the farmers broke the glass of the Deputy Speaker’s car and also pelted stones at the police. Somehow, the police got the convoy of the Deputy Speaker out there amidst the protest by the farmers. Earlier on Sunday, farmers had also protested against Sirsa MP Sunita Duggal and District President Aditya Devi Lal at Chaudhary Devi Lal University. Some farmers had also entered the university carrying black flags and shouting slogans against the government, but the police present there had taken the farmers into custody.
