Amidst this, a video of a group of individuals attacking BJP supporters has gone viral on social media with a claim that those campaigning ahead of 2024 general elections for the BJP in Dwarka, Gujarat, were attacked by the common people.

Fact Check-

We started our investigation by conducting a keyword and reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a video uploaded on News 18 India 's official Twitter on 6th August, 2022. The caption states that this is a video of a street battle between BJP and TMC workers at Hooghly in West Bengal.

Upon further investigation, we came across a report published by TV9 Bharatvarsh on 5 August, 2022. In which information was given that, “There was tension during the BJP rally at Khadina more in Chinchurah, West Bengal. Then there was a scuffle occurred between the workers of Trinamool MLA Asit Majmudar and the workers of BJP.”

In a report published by ABP Bengali we can hear the side of BJP and TMC MLA on this incident. According to the report, the BJP accused TMC MLA Asit Majumdar and his followers of unprovoked violence against party workers. Majumdar denied the allegation, claiming that he and other party workers challenged BJP members who were raising false allegations against the TMC.
