Is this a recent video of a flock of vultures seen in Ayodhya prior to the Pranan Pratistha of Ram Mandir? Know the truth.

False

Pran Pratistha (giving life to idols) at Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir has been scheduled on 22 January but various rituals will start before one week’s time. Social media is flooded with many posts and videos related to the event.

One such post shows a flock of vultures on the road side. Jatayu or vultures, are considered to be a demigod during Ramayana-era. Sharing the video of the flock of these birds, social media users are claiming that prior to the Ram Mandir event, these birds were spotted in Ayodhya.

However, Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. Old video of a flock of vultures on the road went viral as a recent incident from Ayodhya.

What’s the claim?

Sharing the video, a user wrote, “Flock of Jatayu reached Ayodhya. Is it a miracle or coincidence?”

Fact Check-

A Google Reverse Image Search on a keyframe led us to the same video uploaded on a YouTube Channel in 2021 and 2022 as well. The caption of the video states that this is from Indonesia.

As the video has been available on the internet for 2 years, it is not possible that this is a flock of vultures spotted in Ayodhya just few days before the Pran Prathistha. Below you can see the video.

A screengrab of the viral video was also published in TV9 Marathi website in 2022. You can read the article here.

We also came across another Facebook post from 2021 which identified the birds as Himalayan vultures. These vultures are found mainly along the Himalayas and the Tibetan Plateau

Conclusion

Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. Old video of a flock of vultures on the road went viral as a recent incident from Ayodhya.
