The viral video shows an incident that took place in Telangana in October 2022. The video has no link to Madhya Pradesh elections.

Voting for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election 2023 was held on Friday, November 17. All the 230 assembly constituencies in the state went to polls in a single phase. A total of 71.26 per cent voter turnout was recorded across these 230 seats as per the data revealed by the Election Commission of India. Meanwhile, a video is being shared on social media with a claim that congress party leaders are distributing chickens and alcohol to voters. In the video several people can be seen receiving chickens and bottles of what looks like alcohol from a group of men in a public place. The accompanying caption, indicating that the video is from Madhya Pradesh and it states, “If the public gets this facility then which party will not win”

Fact Check-

We started the investigation with a reverse image search on Google and we found a tweet by ANI News indicating that it happened on October 4, 2022 in Telangana. The caption states, “TRS leader Rajanala Srihari distributes liquor bottles and chicken to locals ahead of Telangana CM KC Rao launching a national party tomorrow, in Warangal”

Keeping this in mind, we searched media reports to get more information about this incident and found a report by the Indian Express report from 4 October that said the TRS leader who distributed bottles of liquor and chickens to 200 workers locals was Rajanala Srihari. The distribution reportedly took place ahead of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao launching a national party in Warangal.

Hindustan times

We also came across an NDTV report regarding this incident with the caption “Ahead Of KCR's National Party Launch, Chicken, Liquor Distributed”

Therefore, it is clear that this video is not recent and not from Madhya Pradesh.

Earlier, the same video was shared with different misinformation that BJP was distributing chicken and liquor during Karnataka elections.

Conclusion-

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False. The footage shows an incident that took place in Telangana in the month of October 2022. The video has no link to Madhya Pradesh.
