Is this a video of Hamas terrorists capturing Israeli generals during the ongoing war situation? Know the truth

A few days back, Hamas terrorists infiltrated southern Israel and killed many civilians and the army. Currently, the war between Israel and Palestine is at its peak. Against this backdrop, many images and videos are going viral on social media.

In one such video, a few security guards can be seen escorting a man with handcuffs. Users are claiming that the security personnel are Hamas terrorists who captured a few Israeli generals.

However, Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. This is a video from Azerbaijan and not related to the Israel-Palestine war.

Fact Check-

We noticed that ‘DTX’ was written on the uniform of the security personnel. A relevant keyword search on Google led us to the government website of the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan. On the website, we found an image of a few security guards wearing the same uniform that the security personnel were wearing in the viral video.

A Google Reverse Image Search on a keyword from of the viral video led us to a website in which a screengrab of the viral image was published on 5 October 2023. According to the report, this is an image from Azerbaijan. The State Security Service of the country is investigating a criminal case in connection with terrorist acts committed by Armenian armed groups that are operating in the Karabakh region of the country.

It was found that Arkadi Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan [former president of the separatist regime in Karabakh], and David Ishkhanyan [speaker of the "parliament" in Karabakh] were involved in forming and organizing the activities of armed groups

Conclusion:

Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. The viral video is from Azerbaijan and not related to Israel-Palestine war. The security service of Azerbaijan was arresting suspects involved in criminal case in connection with terrorist activities.
