Currently, a video of a baby having three eyes is going viral on social media. The baby is sitting on a pram have two normal eyes and a third eye on the forehead.

Fact Crescendo received many fact-check requests about this video on our WhatsApp FactLine (9049053770).

Below you can see the video.

The same video was also found viral on other social media platforms. Users are claiming that this video is from Arab. “This baby born in an Arab country has three eyes at birth. and what is special is that the movements of these three eyes are the same at the same time.”

We found the same video viral on social media from time to time. A Twitter user shared the same video on 14 July 2020 saying, “What a lucky boy, it's a wonder world's first baby got 3 eyes, god's miracle”

Fact Check-

After a close look at the video, we found out that the right eye and the eye on the forehead are identical in looks. Apart from this, the movement of both eyes is similar. This proves that the movement of the right eye is copied to the eye on the forehead.

From this it is clear that the viral video had been edited and was shared with a false claim.

Is it possible for such an incident to occur?

After a relevant keyword search on Google, we came across a government medical website in which a report was published on such medical conditions. The term used for this kind of medical condition is Craniofacial Duplication.

This is a rare form of symmetric conjoined twinning with a single neck and body and a wide spectrum of duplication of the craniofacial structures. In one of the cases, a baby was born with three eyes, two noses, and two mouths. According to experts, this rare medical condition occurs in 1 in 15 million births. Till now only 35 cases have been reported.

Conclusion:

Fact Crescendo found that the viral video was altered. Third eye was digitally added on the forehead. This is not a true incident.
