We started our investigation with a reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a similar image posted by Bhupinder Hooda on his official Twitter account on 24 September, 2019. The caption of the image states, “Many congratulations and best wishes to former Union Minister, Rajya Sabha MP, and @INCHaryana Speaker sister @kumari_selja ji on the occasion of her birthday. I pray to God for your good health and long life.”
We found press reports that Selja Kumari denied former Chief Minister and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar's offer to join the BJP. In an exclusive interview at the 'Panchayat AajTak Haryana 2024' event hosted by the India Today Group on September 23, she added, “BJP leaders should refrain from giving me advice. Congress runs through my veins, just as my father passed away wrapped in the Tricolor. I, too, will go wrapped in that same Tricolor one day.”.
